Dear Dr. Simmons:
I deeply appreciate the honor which California
Baptist College is conferring on me today.
I have long been an advocate of the small denominational colleges. They are close to the people;
they do a special job in building morals and character.
And character is the most precious asset of our country,
The environment of a small college is more
conducive to study and more free of the pressures that
beset the large universities. Certainly, in a college
graduating forty-eight students there can be closer and
more helpful student-faculty relationships.
I send my gratitude and warm good wishes to
you, the Administrative Council, the faculty and the
students. God bless youl
Yours faithfully, /
Dr. Loyed R. Simmon:
