Mother's Day Offers Opportunity For Students Mother's Day will have added significance this year due to the fact that it is thedate established by the Executive Board of the Southern Baptist General Convention of California for a special state-wide offering forCali- fornia Baptist College. This Mother's Day is an exciting opportunity to honor mother and help worthv students at CBC. More than $180,000 is currently being granted by the college annually in scholarship aid. With rising costs and withCBC's effort to maintain reasonable tuition in relation to other fully accredited private colleges, Cal Baptist finds it necessary to encourage help in this scholarship program. Approximately 350 students who are receiving scholarship aid will enter church-related vocations. Other scholarships include academic, athletic, music and drama as well as special scholarships for foreign students and members of performing groups. For the college to assume this financial responsibility virtually alone is no longer possible. The college hopes that concerned supporters of Christian higher education will understand and respond to it. The motive in planning and working toward CBC Day is Christ-centered, the purpose is thoroughly honestand unselfish, the need is completely deserving and the plan is credible and consistent with the highest purposes of Christian usefulness.
