Les Chanteuses Will Tour California With Song in '72 Les Chanteuses will represent CBC in northern California on their annual music tour which will be during the week of semester break this year. Their schedule is very tight as the college has many friends in that area and the group is well-known much in demand for performances. Outside of singing to familiar faces, the ensemble will perform for high schools, a Rotary Club, and other groups. The tour schedule is as follows: Jan. 28-First Southern Baptist Church, Taft Jan. 29-To Manteca Jan. 30-First Baptist Church, Manteca Jan. 30-Parkway BaptistChurch, Dublin Jan. 31-Morgan Hill High School Feb. 1-First Southern Baptist Church, Petaluma Feb. 2-Vacaville High School Feb. 2-Trinify Baptist Church, Vacaville Feb. 3-Rotary Club, Vacaville Feb. 3-First Boatjst Church, Grass Valley Feb. 4-Grass Valley High School Feb. 4-First Southern Baptist Church, Sacramento Feb. 5-Free Day-San Francisco Feb. 6-Foxworthy Baptist Church, San Jose Dr. Thurmond George will speak The girls will be guests in people's homes during the tour. News Briefs The $2.00 add/drop fee will not be charged for special students 399 coursework during this time. Be sure to watch Channel 52 at 4:00 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday as our illustrious Dr. George Musacchio challenges a fiendish term paper salesman in a T.V. talk show. Lily Pon Diehl ToAccompany Mini Opera Tickets are going fast for Thursday's benefit Mini Opera, to be presented by CBC's Music Guild in the chapel at 8 p.m. According to Lily Pan Diehl, music instructor at CBC who will be accompanist for the opera, tickets are already being held back and there are very few left. PREPARING for a whirl-wind tour of Northern California are the select women's singing troup from CBC, the Les Chanteuses. LILY PAN DIEHL Produced by Li la and Val Stuart, there will be excerpts from "La Boheme," "Rigolet- to," "Song of Norway," and the complete comedy opera, "The Telephone." Singers are Colene Schwandt, Arlene Bates, Mary Nell Hoag, Robert Nations and Ron Warnell. All numbers will be sung in English. CBC's Riverside 500 Float To Feature Miss Mary Ann By Becky Venosdel "Racing Around The Clock," will be the theme for this year's Riverside 500 parade Saturday. C.B.C. will be entering a float for the fourth consecutive year. The theme will be "A Time to Remember, Make The Most of Your Childhood." C.B.C.'s float will consist of a huge brass bed, a grandfather's clock and nursery rhymes on the back. Miss Mary Ann from Romper Room will also be on the float along with several children. The parade will start at 10:30, Jan. 22, at the corner of Jackson and Magnolia, and will conclude at Tyler Mall. Rick Pribbernow is in charge of the float and is being assisted by Circle K and members of the A.S.B. Those involved so far are Penny Stoner, Walter Grubb, Jennie Williams and Vic Black. These people need the help of the students, though, to make the float possible. They hope that everyone that can will help to assemble the float. They will be meeting in the front classroom of the gym at 2:00 Wednesday, and Thursday and all day Friday. C.B.C. has had a winning float every year they have entered. The first year, they took first place in thedivisionof school organizations. The next year, they took first place in the division of non commercial. Then last year, they took another first place in the division non commercial - secular. Even if you are not able to come out and work on the float, you can help out. They need lots of big tissue flowers in orange, pink and lavender. Also they can use all the large stuffed animals that the girls can supply. Plan now to help out on the float.
