Fresno Pacific University: Hiebert Library Digital Archives

About this collection

The art collection of Hiebert Library includes nearly 600 pieces by eighty-nine artists, most of which were received as donations through the Martin S. Ackerman Foundation during the years 1979-1984. The Ackerman Foundation had created a Friends Organization, and encouraged the members of that organization to make gifts to museums and libraries of books, prints and other art material. Hiebert Library was one of several institutions to receive donations of art through this program. Most of the pieces are multiple issue screenprints, lithographs, engravings, etchings, and photographs, and most are signed and numbered by the artists. The collection also includes a few original watercolor paintings, oil paintings, ink drawings, and pencil drawings.
