About this collection

Occidental College’s first student publication was, “The Occidental Record,” which was published in the early 1890s when the campus was located in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles. Since then, Oxy students have consistently used the written word to express themselves, make each other laugh, and memorialize their time on campus. This collection of student publications - official and otherwise, serious and less so - represents the different voices of a small, liberal arts college in the large metropolis of Los Angeles.Describe your collection for visitors to your site.
